Free Write- October 8th- Stress Management

Happy Almost Weekend-

As much as I enjoy my internship and working, I have also learned it is also important to invest time in self care and make time for fun with friends and family.  I am leaving early tomorrow for a weekend in California with my roommates, who need a break from work and school as well.  As the Executive Director for the Well Devil Coalition at ASU, I encourage students to use some of our wellness resources such as Devil X classes, massages, healthy eating tips, and exercise, whether it is walking, running, lifting weights, or yoga.  This helps manage stress and deal with all the chaos in your life.  I also think this is a good weekend for people to catch up on sleep ( I know I will be catching up on this come Monday.)

I hope all of you enjoy your fall break and come back well rested!

  1. I enjoyed reading your post and I appreciate your tips on how to manage stress. All of your tips make perfect sense but i feel the best ones are running and exercising. I hope you enjoy your trip to California and make it a break to remember!

  2. Way to go, Brady! Man, it is so easy to get caught up in the bustle of everything between school and internships and work, taking a weekend to relax and reset is so necessary. It'd be awesome to see a post sometime about tips for healthy eating and exercise for all of us PAF 484 folk!
Have fun in California- I'm way jealous.

  3. Hi Brad! I missed this post from last week's batch, but I'm so happy that I came across it this week. I had no idea that we had access to such great perks! I'll have to look into it!

My first two semesters back in school were so very difficult for me because I didn't allow myself an opportunity to manage my stress. I thought that dedicating more time to the things that stressed me was the answer. I was WRONG! This semester I've started weight training and meditating on a daily basis. This has made such a huge difference in the way I handle stress, and I'm much happier overall.

    Great advice!
